Walk: Aberdour to Burntisland

Friday 20 July - 10:30am
This is an easy pleasant walk through old woodland and running parallel to the railway. It is approximately 3 miles from Aberdour to Burntisland and takes just over an hour.

The next SURSA walk is on Friday 20th July 2018 from Aberdour to Burntisland on the Fife Coastal Path returning by the same path.  We will meet at the Sands Cafe on the Silver Sands Beach at Aberdour at 10.30am.  There is a large car park at the beach (£1.50 per day).  There are public toilets here. There is also parking at the station and in the village.

Apart from the funfair, the big attraction in Burntisland is the gelateria, Novelli’s, which sells amazing ice cream. There is a bus from Burntisland to Aberdour which runs every half hour, if anyone prefers to return at this point.

We will return by the same route and we can either bring a packed lunch to eat at the Silver Sands Beach or eat in the Sands cafe or in the village.  As this is a relatively short walk (6-7 miles in total), there should be plenty of time to explore Aberdour after the walk, if you want to.
The Castle and Gardens are close to the Silver Sands Beach and there is a good walk to the lighthouse, harbour and the Black Sands Beach.
