Dr Murray Cooke: The Forth: the river that made Scotland

Wednesday 15 November - 2:00pm
The River Forth has had more names than any other river in Scotland and formed Scotland's earliest frontier. This lecture explores how the Forth's geography has haped Scotland’s destiny.

Peter Griffiths writes: I am pleased to announce that our next speaker is to be Dr Murray Cook, Stirling Council’s Archaeologist and Honorary Research Fellow at Stirling University’s Centre for Environment, Heritage and Policy.  Dr Cook is well-known locally for his regular column in the Stirling Observer and books on local history and prehistory. Very likely some of us will have attended his field courses and training digs.

The title of Dr Cook’s illustrated talk is ‘The Forth: the river that made Scotland’ which he summarises thus:

The day and date of the talk are Wednesday 15 November 2023 at 1400 hours in the Braeport Community Centre, Ramoyle, Dunblane, FK15 0AT. Tea and coffee will be available afterwards. We shall have the PA system in operation.

For numbers, will you please let me know if you expect to attend. Email: pvgriffiths@icloud.com or phone 01786 823974.
