Winter walk

Monday 11 March 2013

As luck would have it, it was a very snowy morning, the worst of the week, but with the snow forecast to ease off early afternoon. As the walk was low level and had a coffee shop half way, Mike Snell, the leader, decided to go ahead and although there were several last-minute call offs because of the weather, the nine of us and dog who braved the snow really enjoyed the walk.

The journey there was slightly exciting but the walk was really magical and the snow a joy to walk in. The photos taken by Peter Tytler give an idea of the conditions, inside and out!  The farm shop in Coalsnaughton was excellent and a good find. We didn't have the wonderful view of the hills as promised but coffee and scones were much enjoyed. The journey home was much easier as the forecast had predicted. Our thanks to Mike Snell and Ann McGregor for arranging the walk.
