Meet in the car park in Ceres (toilets!) at 10.30am. The car park is across the river from the Fife Folk Museum which has a café. Ceres is an ancient Burgh and is well worth a visit in its own right. Apart from the museum there are also galleries, a pottery and a tea room as well as the old Ceres Inn. The walk is mainly on paths through agricultural land with a few short ups and downs. There is one short stretch along a minor road. This is a really interesting walk through a historic but lesser known part of Fife. If anyone doesn’t want to walk round the complete circuit, it would be possible to return to Ceres from Tarvit House, either along a minor road or back the way we came and also to spend some time in the house. There is a short steep climb behind the house up the hill to a view point but this can also be avoided, although it is well worth the effort. A full description of the walk can be found at http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/fife-stirling/hill-of-tarvit.shtml Please let Lottie know if you are planning to come by emailing her at lottiegregory@gmail.com. Ceres is over an hour’s drive from here so car sharing would be a good idea. Walking shoes are fine and a snack is always a good idea but we can have a light lunch at Hill of Tarvit.
