Lime Craig Circuit

Monday 27 February - 10:30am
Our next walk is the Lime Craig circuit from The Lodge Forest Visitor Centre (formally know as David Marshall Lodge) on A821 above Aberfoyle. The total distance is approx. 4 miles on good forest paths with a steady incline and should take about two hours.

There is the opportunity to watch red squirrels (as well as many types of birds) from the hide on the way up. There is also the option of climbing up a steep path to the viewpoint at Lime Craig before descending back to The Lodge.  If it is a clear day there are good views from the top and also on the path up where it runs along the Highland Boundary fault line. There are toilets near the car park and also at the visitor centre which is open 10am to 4pm for coffee and lunch, if required. Meet at the car park at 10.30am on Monday 27 February.  Maureen suggests that you wear boots and bring a snack. The cost of the car park is £3 and so car sharing would be worthwhile.
