The Kreutzer Sonata

Richard writes: This won’t be a talk: instead, we’ll be listening to music on CD, and to a live reading of extracts from a novel.  The various pieces will include music by Beethoven and Janacek, and prose by Tolstoy.  The pieces are linked by the French musician Rodolphe Kreutzer, whose name appears in the titles of works we’ll be hearing.  There will be not much sex, but some violence.
