Hidden Gardens of the Royal Mile

Thursday 25 June - 11:00am
"Discover the grandeur of Georgian Edinburgh through buildings and gardens designed to impress. See beyond the railings: each tour will include a visit to two privately-owned New Town gardens: first, East Queen Street Garden for its 'Grecian temple' and wonderful vintage trees, then Central Queen Street Garden to see the pond where, as a child, Robert Louis Stevenson began to imagine a treasure island."

On this occasion it's unnecessary to arrange transport as car, bus and train are all possibilities. The cost of the tour is £6 per head and we need a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 20. The £6 can be handed over to Jean at the start of the tour. We will meet inside East Princes Street Gardens near the Scott Monument box office, EH2 2EJ at just after 11 a.m. and the tour will begin at 11.15. The tour lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes and covers about one mile of mainly downhill pavement walking with some slopes and uneven surfaces. We will finish at Central Queen Street Garden.
