Extra SURSA Walk - Ben Venue from Loch Achray

Thursday 1 September - 10:30am
This is a longer and more arduous walk than Ben A’an with a little scrambling near the top, but there is a good path up and the group will be returning the same way, so if anyone feels enough is enough they can always turn back! The group will only go if the weather is reasonable.

Eight members walked up Ben A’an on a glorious day in June and had lovely enticing views of Ben Venue across the way.  This tempted them to fit in an extra walk on Thursday, 1 September.

Meeting place is the Ben Venue car park, on the right of the A821 coming from Callander just passed the turn off to Loch Katrine.  There is a charge of £3 for a day’s parking.  There are no toilets but lots of bushes.  However, the Brig o’Turk tearoom opens at 10 and the car park is only five minutes away so the group will wait for you if they know you’re coming!   Please wear boots and bring a packed lunch as this is a proper hill walk. A more detailed description of the walk can be found at http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/lochlomond/ben-venue.shtml.

Please let Lottie know by email if you are planning to come and she will try to sort out lifts.
